Border Collie Rescue - On Line - Shetland

Border Collie Rescue visited Shetland between Friday 17th September and Tuesday 22nd September 2010 for a series of meetings, presentations and training sessions for volunteers with the object of forming a Working Group to help Border Collies in the islands.

The initial interest was good and a number of volunteers came forward, but there were insufficient people prepared to become officers and accept roles of responsibility working within the charities structure. By the end of March 2011 the concept of forming a working group was abandoned and replaced by a local volunteer network.

Border Collie Rescue is active in taking dogs in from Shetland and re-homing dogs into Shetland where appropriate.

There is no-one in Shetland authorised to make decisions on behalf of Border Collie Rescue.

All our volunteers on the Islands work from their homes and do not publish their telephone numbers or addresses.

Any enquiries regarding re-homing or adoption and all enquiries regarding the work of Border Collie Rescue in Shetland (or elsewhere) should be addressed to the charities main national telephone number 0845 6044941 from 2pm to 5pm weekdays (excluding bank holidays).

Funds raised by Border Collie Rescue on Shetland are used only to benefit Border Collie Rescue dogs on Shetland.

Any funds raised on the Islands, from any source, are held in a dedicated fund for and applied only for the care of dogs we take in or re-home onto the Islands that make up Shetland.

By applying a unique reference to any donation (or simply telling us it is to be used for Shetland dogs, any member of the public or organisation - from anywhere in the world - will be able to donate specifically to our Shetland rescue work, whether it be by regular standing order or a single one off payment.
