| Border Collie Rescue began to design and provide content for their own Website to help promote better care and understanding of the breed in June 1999. No-one in the organisation at that time had any experience of the Internet or of Website design and maintenance. It has been a steep learning curve with a lot of help from the parties below. |
| Internet service Providers, Succeed Systems (based in Surrey), impressed by the dedication and history of Border Collie Rescue, offered to help us set up Internet access, to provide our domain, to host Website facilities and to act as technical consultants, as and when appropriate, free of charge. |
| Stuart Watson, proprietor of Succeed Systems, interpreted our concept of easy access to the various sections of the site and designed and provided the menu bar that resides at the top of all pages along with a system of templates that could be easily utilised by less technical individuals and adapted as needed to upgrade and develop the site. They have never let us down and we are very grateful for their help. |
| Our Internet access is through Freeserve Anytime. The cost of this service has been donated by Finglow Ltd, a Hertfordshire based company who have also donated a number of Pentium PC's and other equipment to our office network. A Kent based company, Miles Travel, have also donated a number of PC's, along with a small office telephone exchange system. |
| The day to day management of this site is run by volunteers from the Border Collie Rescue head office in Richmond, North Yorkshire using Microsoft Front Page 98 and a Pentium 4 series PC, donated by a company from the Isle of man who wish to remain anonymous. Uploading to Website is achieved by free software from Ipswitch and ISDN facilities installed and maintained by British Telecom. |
| Our office network is serviced and maintained, free of charge, by Chris Baron of Gemini Computer Services, North Yorkshire who have also donated a Pentium 2 PC, amongst other equipment, to our office network. They too, have never let us down, and we are also very grateful for their help. |
| Additional contributions have come from Ted Wray of Trinity Video, Nigel Cooke, Don Foyle, Paul Baron, Doug Lever and Mike from The Rural Sound Collective. |
| Thanks to the combined efforts of all the above individuals and companies we are able to provide this Website facility and our Internet access, e.mail facilities, Etc. at no cost to Border Collie Rescue funds. |
| The content of this Website has also been provide free of charge. We are grateful for the co-operation of a large number of companies and individuals who have supplied hardware, software, services, information, images, cartoons, animation's and other material to help in the presentation of this site. These are too many to list here, but credit has been given where the contributions appear. |

Border Collie Rescue we are all volunteers because we have a passion for
the breed - not just a liking or a respect or an admiration or a feeling
of kindred spirit - we have all of that and more.
We feel strongly about the abuse and exploitation the breed has suffered and is suffering, particularly in these enlightened times. We want to change this.............. |
